Talinie [map]

I am a bit of a fan of the old school, hex mapping style (Greyhawk or Mystara).  That converged with my love of the old 2E Birthright campaign setting about two years ago.  Great concept, deeply developed with some new aspects added to the traditional D&D game.  I converted the Talinie hand drawn in the Player’s Secrets supplement to that style of map (2 miles per square).  I also added a few extra little tid bits on the map for color.  As an extra, I also converted the map into a FR style map.

As a quick credit, I used the provincial coat-of-arms from birthright.net.  Lots of good information over there.

    I dig these maps bigtime.

    A couple questions:
1.) What hex mapping program do you use? Hexmapper?
2.) The rivers and borders, how do you get them so smooth? Do you use just a mouse or pen and tablet?

    Keep up the great work!

I use Photoshop CS. And for the rivers, I zoom in to 300% and then use the SHIFT key with the brush tool to create a nice smooth line.

      Good luck!

Do you happen to remember where you downloaded the tiles and hex grid image files? I’ll try to do the same with GIMP.
